Meetings in English

Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for AA membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. AA is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy, neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.

Details of meetings taking place in Prague are noted below. No English-speaking meetings are held in other cities in the Czech Republic.

If you wish to attend a Czech speaking meeting in other cities around the country, click here for more information. There may be an English speaker at these meetings.

Prague – How to find us

Address: Na Poříčí 16, Praha 1

Our main meeting place is in the center of town. The street “Na Poříčí” is well known. Any hotel receptionist should be able to point you in the right direction.

Look for the blue AA sign on the street (next to restaurant Pizza Coloseum). Ring the bell marked AA and the doors will be opened. The entrance to our rooms is across the courtyard. There is another big AA sign in the courtyard. If the door is locked, ring the bell marked AA. There are 3 meeting rooms in the basement, so go downstairs and follow the smell of coffee. Meetings are in the room on the left side.

Serenity prayer

God grant me the serenity

to accept the things I cannot change;

courage to change the things I can;

and wisdom to know the difference.
